Fact:
Im happier after hair treatment.
I feel good after medi pedi.
I feel awesome when i go shopping and watching movies with my bestie. I feel really great when i spend more money than others (this is a fact).
My mood is just great when i'm with my brand new branded shoes.
I feel satisfied when i've ordered a loooots of food + dessert.
I'm in the top of the world when i've receive luxurious gift.
I am speechless (very happy) when my bf came and surprise me with a birthday cake last year. He's a cupcake.
*this is my happy secret fact. i have lots more*
Conclusion: We do need money to make happiness. Buying stuff/ services to urself or your love one is actually buying their smile. Don't u know?
Owh, i feel happy when he called.
"Called" actually need money.
"Eat" need money.

Yet, money is not everything. Money can't buy u life & soul.
Classy example my mom told me:
kalau xde duit, nak solat pun takut. Takut buang masa untuk solat, langsung tak dapat duit. true.

to me, it depends on how do you define happiness itself actually...it is how you value your happiness..if it's monetary, then the proverb "money can't buy you happiness" is wrong.but if you intend to seek for alternatives for money, still happiness can be achieved.the happiest of people, don't have to be the richest of them all.. and for thinking that u need money in everything in life, for me that's just the system nowadays that we oblige.if we think deep enough, out of the context, money loses anyway because for me the happiness it brings is temporary...this is just my thought :)
